A few months ago, I met Yvonne Root of Rooms By Root - you may know her as Northern Arizona Home Stager. After commenting on each other's posts and emailing back and forth, we finally had the opportunity to meet at the Phoenix Blogging Conference back in June. Yvonne is more than a home stager, though, Yvonne is a genuine person. A wonderful lady with a great sense of humor, only to be dwarfed in comparison to the size of her heart.
Why do I bring this up?
This last weekend, I had a "flippin' inventory" sale at my house. My family and I spent the entire week sorting through my staging warehouse and deciding what had seen better days and what needed a new home. Believe me, there was plenty to it! With enough inventory to stage 40 vacant homes - this was quite an optimistic endeavor.
Some time during the week, I came to my senses and called Yvonne. Would she, could she come down to help?
Now keep in mind - we live approximately 2 hours apart. There's a reason she's called the Northern Arizona Home Stager and I'm not. Without even missing a beat, Yvonne arrived at my house Saturday morning at 6am - which means she left her house around 4am!! 4am!!
WOW! Now, that's amazing! She was a real trooper too. She helped, pitched and supervised. Awesome all the way around.
I am so thankful to Active Rain for introducing me to Yvonne. I'm thankful for the community of networking that has allowed two people who live two hours apart who would typically by competitors to be comrades and friends. I'm blessed.
Thank you, Yvonne and Thank you A/R - You Rock!
Have you made the same connection with someone here on A/R that perhaps you might have missed? I'd love to hear about it!

The two of you in the same place? That must have created a disturbance in the time-space continuum. Too much positive energy in one place!
Ray - You're right. But it's nice to know that in addition to building my business here on A/R, I'm making my life a little better too :)
Paul - Better be careful ... we've got a whole year to plan that carnival! ;0)
Calie ~ What a great story and what a great friend you have found in Yvonne! It is so nice to hear about people who have met in person from AR and formed a 3-D friendship.
Hope the sale went well too!
Marci - Heaven help the rest of the world, the day all of us actually meet! Wouldn't that just be a tidal wave of contagious enthusiasm!
Yvonne - All I can say is "You Rock!"
Kathy - Love your "3 D Friendship" moniker. Great word picture for sure!
Terry - Great idea, but how would you handle the packaging and shipping of larger items? Yvonne and I even talked about this very idea, I was just a little unsure of shipping. Any ideas?
Calie and Terry, Reece Mack has started a group here on AR for just that purpose. It is called Decorators Haven. Check it out. Betty
Calie and Yvonne, I was very jealous when I read about your great day. However, then I remembered that I will be meeting Terry in Orlando next month and I cheered up. I'm pretty sure we will connect and have a great time together. Betty
Lori Kim - You don't live that far, why don't you join us at Starbucks sometime? How about this weekend?
Betty - You can come too! It will be fun and probably a little warmer than your Calgary winter. Just let me know when your schedule allows. Hey - Craig Schiller will be here in a few days, why don't you come then?
Calie, Yvonne is such a hoot over the internet and by phone. I can only imagine in person. The 2 of you together must create a lot of laughter!!!
Lori Kim - Let's talk about that. It's a definite possibility!
Janice - You're right. We are very fortunate. You'll find your staging mate - not to worry. Great things happen!
Leslie - Yes, even before the sunrises, Yvonne can be quite humorous! I only get that way after my first (dozen) visit to Starbucks :)
That's a fantastic story! I love AR ;)
Cheers,
Cindy
Calie, It was great to meet Yvone Saturday, and see the two of you in action! Teamwork.
Awwww, once again I am missing out on all the fun times. Oh, well at least it didn't rain here in MN today so my life is not so bad. I would have bought a few lamps for sure!!
Glad you 2 had such fun.
